How to join Territorial Army

 Territorial Army was formed before 1857 revolution as a volunteer force by British government. In 1917 Indian Defence Force Act was passed and asked all universities to provide volunteers . The famous personalities who were joined it were Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Pt jawahar lal Nehru, and Mahatma Gandhi.

It was divided into Provincial Unit , Urban Unit, Medical Unit and University Training Corps . The first one had Artillery Unit Also , and infantry units had Railway Unit 

The modern Territorial Army was came into reality when The Territorial Army Act 1948 was passed by parliament, at starting it had Infantry, Armoured force, Air defence Artillery, Signal, Supply and other branches.

Territorial army was inaugurated by first Indian governor general C. Rajgopalachari on 9 Oct 1949. This day is celebrated as Territorial army day since then, and first Territorial army week was celebrated from 8 to 15 November 1952 to spread awareness about this prestigious force and encourage India citizens to join it.

Today it is a one of the biggest forces comprising almost 50 thousand personnel and 65 dipartment serving every corners of our beloved country India 

We can join it upto the age of 42 and we should be employed or self employed. First we have to fill a form on official website https://jointerritorialarmy.gov.in/ than after appear in PIB written exam which constitute four major subjects 1 Mathematics 2- Reasoning 3- general knowledge 4 - English Language if we qualified it we will be asked for PIB interview, where a bord will interview us and qualified candidates will go through SSB interview
